Frequently Asked Questions

Do I work with you the entire time?

The Sales Team at East Wind works together as a team so there is always someone to be able to assist you at any time. The week of your wedding you will be introduced to your maitre d’. Your maitre d’ is responsible for executing your event.

 


What happens if guests can’t make it?

You are responsible for the number of guests guaranteed on your contract. Your final count is not due until 2 weeks prior to your event date.

 


What happens if more Guests come?

Your final count is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. If more people need to be added on after that count has been given, they will need to be added to your floor plan and paid for prior to your event date.

 


Should I hire an outside Wedding Coordinator?

This is at your discretion but know that most coordinators are expensive and not entirely necessary with the level of service we provide. We provide you with dedicated event representatives, who will be available to help you establish all of the plans for your event.

 


What happens if it rains?

Each venue at East Wind has indoor ceremony capabilities. Your maitre d’ will be in touch with you the week of your wedding to discuss the forecast and ceremony plans as it gets closer.

 


Do you do a tasting before we book?

We are not able to provide individual tastings for all of our brides & grooms. The quality of our food can be tasted at any of our Bridal Showcases held throughout the year.

 


How many people can sit at each table?

The Cottage can fit anywhere from 8-10 guests per table. Weddings held at The Inn & Estate can accommodate 10-12 guests per table.

 


What services do you provide other than Catering?

East Wind provides a myriad of services in addition to your specific event, including Overnight Accommodations, full service Spa & Salon, in house Restaurant & Pub, on-site Florist & many more amenities. Please inquire with your event representative with your specific needs.

 


What color linens do you provide?

Included in your package are Ivory Linens with Ivory Napkins. Alternative colors can be purchased at an additional cost from our in house florist, With All My Heart.

 


How far in advance should I block rooms at The Inn?

As soon as possible! Our hotel rooms are available first come-first serve so waiting to block rooms may mean you run the risk of us being sold out.

 


Can I bring my own food and/or alcohol?

No, NYS Liquor Law prohibits outside alcoholic beverages on the premises at all times. All food served at East Wind must be prepared in our kitchens.

 


Where is my food prepared?

Each venue at East Wind has its own dedicated kitchen with its own dedicated team of chefs & cooks following East Wind’s House Recipes.

 


What do you serve to kids?

Children ages 3-10 years will be offered Chicken Fingers & French Fries or Pasta.

 


Can we bring home leftover food?

No, Suffolk County Department of Health prohibits food leaving our property. You and your guests’ health & safety are our number one priority.
